Advanced Program in Computer Science
Since 2006, the University of Science - Vietnam National University at Ho Chi Minh City has been appointed to be one of 10 leading universities in Viet Nam participating in a National project named "Renovation of university education in Vietnam" (decree no.14/2005/NQ-CP on 2nd November 2005). The purpose of this 15-year project is to raise Vietnamese university education to advanced level of the world.
Under this project, the University of Science deployed experimental training The Advanced Program in Computer Science. The course are fully implement in English, with the same syllabus, curricular and training methods as Portland State University.
Over the years, The Advanced Program in Computer Science of the University of Science has always been appraised by the Ministry of Education and Training as being one of the best innovative program currently.
HCMUS-UCBL1 Double Degree
The study program is unified by two universities: University of Science, Vietnam (HCMUS) and University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL). Students will learn the courses in French. However, French is not an entrance prerequisite. Students will learn it in intensive French courses.
The eligible student will graduate with 2 degrees from 2 universities (HCMUS and UCBL) and will be admitted directly to France to study Master 2 at UCBL or the other universities in France..
High - Quality Program
With the aim of training high-quality human resources to meet the demand of domestic and foreign enterprises, the Faculty of Information Technology has deployed a high-quality training program based on academic credit system, accredited under ASEAN University Network- Quality Assurance, with the first courses started in 2013.
Output standards of the program are built according to the standards of CDIO, ensuring that the students are equipped with adequate knowledge, skills and attitudes to meet the demands of the society upon graduation. The program is built on the balance based on the equipment of professional knowledge and the development of personal skills, soft skills and foreign languages it is guaranteed that graduate students can work well in both domestic and foreign enterprises or further their study at postgraduate level.
